E-infrastructure for floating solar panels in Rotterdam

Clean Energy

Batenburg Energietechniek was selected to realise the connection of one hectare of floating solar panels and half a hectare of solar panels on land. The  floating solar panels rotate with the sun, which ensures maximum yield and the passage of sufficient light to guarantee a healthy ecosystem.

At the production site of Evides in Rotterdam, one hectare of floating solar panels and half a hectare of solar panels on land have been installed. The solar panels account for a total annual yield of over 2 million kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to the average consumption of 650 households per year. Batenburg Energietechniek supplied and installed two compact substations for the connection of the solar panels. The substations have a capacity of 630 kVA and 1000 kVA and are equipped with transformers specially built for PV applications.
